Are You Sure That Heirloom Oriental Rug From Your Aunt Hilda Is Really Insured?

Gone are the days of the cinder block and wood plank bookcases. You’ve come along way from that old reliable jut rug and CDs (or in some cases, actual vinyl albums) stored in milk crates. That’s the way it is with first apartments, and sometimes second and third apartments too. It’s what you were able to afford when you first set out own your own. And it was fun, sort of. But today’s a new day, and you’ve paid your dues and then some. You’re the king or queen of your own castle, a castle as well-appointed as any luxury model home, with beautiful area rugs, antique furnishings, and other treasurers that you’d hate ever to see lost.

Because your home, and to a certain extent the items in that furnish it, will most likely be the best investment you’re likely to make, it’s important to protect this investment and those items that enhance it. The simplest way to do this is to make sure that you are carrying adequate insurance coverage on your home and its furnishings.

How Much Coverage is Enough?

Determining the amount of coverage needed is crucial. Say, that beautiful oriental rug once belonging to Great Aunt Hilda has finally come to rest in your hands, only to be irrevocably damaged when someone at the party you’re hosting spills Merlot on it. Other than frantically going at it on all fours, with club soda and Baby Wipes to the delight of your guests, what would you need to do in order to be “made whole” again, and most importantly, stop Great Aunt Hilda from spinning in her grave?

First, if you own your home and have a mortgage on it held by a bank, then you will be required to maintain adequate coverage on the “dwelling,” the actual building which makes up the structure of your home for the life of the loan. The lender recognizes the value of this investment, and will make sure that their investment is protected by requiring it be adequately covered by insurance. But how does this insurance coverage extend to Great Aunt Hilda’s prized Persian rugs and all the other furnishings that adorn the inside of your castle/home?

Estimating Value

An insurance agent writing a policy on your home will probably leave an estimation of the value of your home’s contents to your discretion. Your insurance agent may even ask you directly: “How much do you think your household contents are worth?” Following this query with yet another you may or may not feel qualified to answer: “Is that replacement or actual estimated value?” Your agent may encourage you to opt for coverage that allows for those lost items to be either made whole again either by: repair, replacement or receipt of cash payment–as most common household furnishings (other than fine art and other collectables), depreciate considerably in value with time.

But what about those two rare oriental rugs left to you by dear Aunt Hilda? Will you be expected to determine the value for these items? Well, not exactly. It’s one thing for you to estimate the value of last year’s CD player for $129, when it’s costs may be closer to $89, and quite another for you to estimate the value of a pair of rugs at $5000 each. Because you are limited to $1000 coverage per theft on these types of items when claimed under your Homeowner’s policy, an estimation of $5000 for each rug under your standard policy would only you provide with $1000 worth of coverage, for items you say are worth closer to $10,000. That’s why you may want to consider covering such items, those you value at over $1,000, with a Schedule to your Homeowner’s policy.

  • So, what is a Schedule? It’s a list of items which may not receive adequate coverage under your standard Homeowner’s coverage.
  • Who should consider a Schedule? If you own fine art, rare collectables, guns, jewelry, silverware, and fine area rugs, you might very well benefit by having a Schedule added to your policy.
  • Do Schedules cover loss other than standard peril? Items listed on the Schedule are subject to broader coverage–beyond fire and peril–than those provided for under the standard Homeowner’s policy. Schedule items include coverage for accidental and unforeseeable occurrences: like rugs permanently stained by Merlot.
  • Are Schedule items included under the deductible? A Schedule also benefits you because these items are not subject to a deductible.
  • What proof needs to be provided to add a Schedule to your Homeowner’s policy? To include a Schedule to your homeowner’s policy, will be asked to substantiate the value of each item to be included on the Schedule. This can be provided in the form of certificates of authenticity, sales receipt or by appraisals.

Whether or not your household items merit the inclusion of a Schedule should be determined by you, the homeowner, assisted by your insurance agent. This way, with a little additional coverage, your Aunt Hilda’s treasured rugs may exist to be passed on to the next generation.

Powering Up Hand Held Wireless Devices In The Field

Powering up hand held wireless devices in the field for Business Uses, Educational Issues, Monitoring Sensors for Security Purposes or Blue Force Tracking for military troops in the field for net-centric warfare is possible even in the most remote locations can be possible using simple principles which will provide small amounts of energy. There are a few new innovative ways to do this, which appear to have been overlooked. One is to have an inflatable sphere or beach ball with inner reflective skin, which is reflective on the inside, which can take on light waves or UV from the sun or energy in the form of waves that can be sent energy from afar, by chemical laser, regular laser (beach ball would have the reactionary coating and chemical), directional sound waves, microwave, etc.

The inflated sphere would act like a black hole taking in the waves inside and then reflecting them all around in the inside without allowing them to leave. Picture a silver beach ball with a circular section, which is clear on the outside surface facing the incoming energy source. Now picture a cone shaped area protruding from the center towards the clear circular patch on the surface of the beach ball facing the opening. The cone would be pointed outward and as it neared the center it would have a hat shape with a brim reflecting the waves into the center to bounce around and would trap the waves bouncing around within. These waves would bombard each other while hitting them selves and thus retain power and depending on the gas inside increase the molecule interaction inside.

The line holding the inflated sphere ball tethered from the ground would be a power cord, which would have a system to charge 200-300 batteries for the hand held devices. The laser could bean the energy from a plane, satellite vehicle in the distance, ground reflector on a nearby hill facing the balloon and concentrating the beam to the area where the clear round patch was where the waves take in the energy to the center of the ball.

For energy on Mars to charge batteries the ball could be tied down by multiple tethers and a series of these could deliver and store energy. Areas of dust devils many balls could be set up to collect the static energy from the dust devils and store it for battery charging. These units could be set up near a base station for a colony and contribute to it’s power supply and help in recharging the batteries of robotic exploring units. Dust storms could also be created fairly easily, especially in areas on the surface of Mars where they are readily prevalent.

Creating dust storms, which would be used for the energy to power up batteries would not be too difficult, as the patterns of wind are predictable in such situations. Studying the patterns of wind and the patterns of erosion on Mars will be much simpler than doing so on Earth with a more complex atmosphere.

The energy created will be used as energy to send data and charge batteries and power for the base station. Small amounts of weather control in simple environments is very practical. As we have read in Creighton’s “Prey” the organically modified organisms used the sun to generate energy for them to motivate, assimilate and take on new shapes, this can give us clues as to how best to use what’s available for our own needs. It maybe possible to create a perpetual dust devil and have a permanent energy source. The book Prey is not so far off if we consider the possibilities of SmartDust in 20-30 or so years, combined with the mapping and modifying of DNA, RNA, proteins and enzymes. If SmartDust can be controlled using waves of sound, light, UV, heat, etc. An organic system of smart dust particles could be put into a vertical tube structure with a slit opening on one side, which allows in the wind and spins the dust around and around unable to escape due to the direction of travel, the dust would also be forced to stay in the rotating pattern by waves set at a certain frequency to stay within the repeating patterns necessary to retain the SmartDust without allowing to escape the system.

It would not be hard to make this system very light weight and easy to deliver to the planet from Earth. Like wise it would not be difficult to carry such a device in a small kit on the back of an explorer, soldier or survivor.

You’ve likely heard about or seen the impact that the ugg sheep skin boot has made in the world of fashion recently. It’s one thing for the boot to be trendy, but what about beneficial? When people think of boots, they do not always think of them in terms of the benefits that the boots offer. Most people need boots for the snow, so any boot that is waterproof generally will be suitable. But boots do have benefits, including the ugg sheep skin boot , and the benefits of this boot go far beyond their good looks.

These boots are so comfortable they can be worn all the time in all types of weather. If made from genuine sheep skin, they likely will last a long time making their purchase a good investment. Best of all, with so many styles currently available, there is sure to be an ugg sheep skin boot to fit everyone’s tastes and budget.

The ugg sheep skin boot is a practical boot. The sheep skin helps keep feet warm during the cold winter months, and cool during the warm summer months. The comfortable and soft sheep skin fits like a glove and acts like a second skin, helping to maintain the body’s temperature. In fact, these boots can keep feet warm even in temperatures as low as -30ºF. Plus, the wool has natural wicking properties which help draw moisture away from the skin, and this is what helps to keep the skin dry. Finally, a person’s feet should not smell after wearing these boots. The wool fleece helps the air inside the boot to circulate which allows the foot to breathe. Of course, there is no guarantee on this claim!

The ugg sheep skin boot, if properly cared for, will last for many years, making it a good investment. The soft skin is actually leather and as such, the boot is not waterproof. A water-repellant product can be applied to the boot, but even this will not make the boot waterproof. The boot can be cleaned but not by immersing it into water. The boots must be cleaned by hand, using a cleaning product that is designed for use on sheep skin and dried naturally.

One feature of the ugg sheep skin boot that makes it such a popular choice in footwear can also cause the boot to become damaged. That feature is its soft sheep skin. These delicate-skinned boots should never be worn anywhere you’re likely to encounter things that can damage or puncture the boot’s soft skin, like on a hiking trip. So to ensure the boots live a long life, be sure to properly treat and care for them.

The ugg sheep skin boot is available in many different styles and sizes making this boot the perfect choice for all tastes. These boots are available in sizes for the entire family, including infants, children, men and women. The best quality boots are made from genuine sheep skin but imitation boots are everywhere.

Just remember, the better the quality, the higher the price. But when it comes to the Ugg sheep skin boot , keep in mind that you’re getting far more than just good looks; you’re making a sound investment.

The ABC’s Of A Great Life: “B” Is For Belief

Medical and other scientific studies agree – people who have strong spiritual or religious beliefs are healthier, happier, heal faster, enjoy life more and suffer less pain and degeneration in their later years than do their unbelieving counterparts. And the interesting thing is, it doesn’t matter what religion or spiritual system you believe in, so long as you believe in it fully and deeply, and that it is meaningful and personal to you.
People who believe and who worship, socialize or otherwise congregate with their fellow believers bring even more positive energy into their lives – and what’s even better, if those around you believe as well and you are aware that they are actively praying or otherwise working for your benefit, then that betokens even greater wellness and happiness for you on top of whatever benefits accrue to you from your own activities.
Having a strong belief system is a major factor in remaining strong, healthy and vigorous throughout life and up until the very end. Some may shrug it off as a placebo effect (the mind “fooling” the body into better health and happiness) but most agree that in the end it really doesn’t matter what the “true” cause is – the results are measurable, provable, consistent and nothing short of amazing in their effectiveness.
So what do you believe in and how do you nurture that belief? Finding a system of belief and devoting time and energy to maintaining and growing that in your life can pay big dividends in your life. Consider it health insurance of a sort – insurance for which the premium is paid in faith and you are the “soul” benefactor.

Notes on Pakistan

How many of us know exactly how many states there are in pakistan? How many of us know exactly which part of Pakistan are we trying to recapture? I am sure less than 95% of the population in India don’t know the answers
to these questions. Yet the hatred for Pakistan is rife. Who created this hatred? We can rightfully say ‘The British’.

However why are we still continuing to revel in that? Why don’t we take a leaf out of the pages of history and learn from them?

Living in London makes you look at things from a bystander’s perpective. The partititon affected a lot of Pakistanisand
Indian punjabis. Most of them migrated to and fro between the two countries while a sizable sum sought asylum in Britain.
Three – fourth of the indian population in Britain are Punjabis and they are termed as British Indians.

The extreme winters in London donot permit people to walk about in their natinal dress, unlike when I was in Bahrain and
the weather was much more compliant and comfort was the order of the day. In london the face is the only betrayel of culture.
The rest of the body are covered with layers of sweaters, boots, gloves etc shielding the body from the freezing
temperatures.

When I meet a Pakistani or an Indian they look the same. I could easily mistake one for the other. What I am trying to
convey through all thisis the message that was long amiss in my education. We both pakistanis and indians are the SAME in
every aspect. Our countries and weather conditions are the same, thereby making our features similar.

In London most pakistanis and indians nurture the same ‘kwaish’- to return to their motherland. London is not a land for the
weak hearted or weak skinned. Weather and trials faced here are far more numerous than those we encounter in our native land
where we are cocooned by the security of family, job etc. Also being away from home instills in us the craving to go back.

All these years I assumed my thoughts were unique to me, but no.. they are the same to every Pakistani, Indian etc.

Here Pakistanis and indians walk hand in hand, help each other, celebrate in the birth of each others’ offspring, cheer(or jeer) for matches(cricket or football) etc. Here it seems we reunite with the brother we lost.

However do we have to come to another land to realise our folly? Do we have to be a bystander to acknowledge the wrongs of our forefathers?

Yash Chopra’s film Veer Zaara- though poorly scripted had a strong message to convey at the end- a message
that I can only assume was lost on my brothers/ sisters back in India, but which was hammered on the rest of us outside.

Is it too late to reflect and teach our children or shall we have them realise the same through experience?

When even the Blacks and Whites have learned to coexist in peace why are we still nursing our grievances, why are we
throwing salt in our forefathers’ wounds rather than just letting it heal?

Massage in Bucharest

Recognize it! You’re busy! And so must be! That’s what life is like! But you want more than that, you want to do more for yourself and massage can help. Because massage makes more than a simple relaxation of the mind and body. It keeps your body in shape and gives you enough energy to make you enjoy a longer life better than you do it today.

Massage releases stress. At the moment, stress is a universal evil. Every time you are late, every time you avoid a car in traffic, every time you have trouble working, stress is doing his job. Each time adrenaline increases heart rate and cortisone levels and organs respond to the measure. You will be in a state of nerves and constant agitation.
When there is no release of stress, serious problems such as an upset stomach, hypertension, sleep disturbances, chest pain, or existing illness may worsen.

Some of the changes that may occur are: Anxiety, lack of concentration, depression, permanent fatigue, muscle or bone pain, sexual dysfunction, excessive sleep or insomnia

All these stress-related problems can be diminished and some can be totally eliminated by massage. The researchers concluded that a massage session can lower heart rate and blood pressure, relax your muscles and increase endorphin production. The massage also releases serotonin and dopamine and the result is a general relaxation, both physical and mental.
Our body care must be at the top of the priorities.
By adding the massage to your routine you will look much better and you will be much healthier and relaxed. Massage can improve your vitality and mood. Massage can prepare for a long and beautiful life.

Our masseuses personalize each massage session according to the needs of the individual.
Our massage parlors offer a variety of relaxation styles and techniques to help you. Apart from relaxing, massage can be a powerful ally in reducing pain, increasing energy levels, improving mental and physical performance

We recommend : HotAngels , VipZone , JadePalace , ThaiPassion

After a massage session, you will see how the mental prospects are enriched, the body allows easier handling, better pressure resistance, relaxation and mental alertness, calm and creative thinking.
When you have the impression or force yourself to stay straight, your body is not actually aligned properly. Not only does the posture look bad, but it forces some of the muscles to go muddy all day, while others become weaker. After a long time, the incorrect position may cause other drops. For example, internal organs press on what affects digestion, breathing ability is also diminished, which means that much less blood and oxygen reaches the brain and hence all sorts of other complications.

Massage allows you to return your body to the track. Allowing the body to make healthy and accurate movements is one of the greatest benefits of massage. Massage can relax and restore muscles injured by bad posture, allowing the body to position itself in a natural, painless position.
Apart from posture, there is also anxiety. One of the signs of anxiety and stress can also be heavy breathing. When the body begins to breathe too little and deeply instead of breathing at a natural rithm, it is impossible for one to relax. One reason may also be that the chest muscles and the abdomen get tightened and the air gets harder.

Massage plays an important role in learning the body how to relax and how to improve breathing. Respiratory problems such as allergies, sinuses, asthma or bronchitis are a group of conditions that can benefit from massage. In fact, massage can have a positive impact on respiratory function.

Many of the muscles in the front and back of the upper part of the body are breathing accessory. When these muscles are tight and shorten they can block normal breathing and interrupt effective breathing natural rithm. Massage techniques for stretching and relaxing these muscles improves breathing function and breathability. Massage leads to an opening of the chest as well as structural alignment and nerve dilatation that are required for optimal pulmonary function. A good way to treat respiratory problems with massage is the taping made in Swedish massage. When done on the back, along with vibrations, it can detach the mucus from the lungs and can clean the airways for better later function.

Massage not only relaxes muscles, but helps people become aware of daily stress levels. Once the body recognizes what really means relaxation, the mind can rest easily relax before the stress becomes cornice and harmful. This will help you enjoy a balanced life. Massage controls breathing, allows the mind to re-create relaxation before the occurrence of chronic and harmful stress and increases the level of energy.
